How do we judge the effectiveness of the typing games for kids? There are many factors to consider prior to selecting the games. One is its user friendliness. If a child finds it difficult to navigate through the levels and stages, then it may not be as effective as it was meant to be for a child. Other factors include its entertaining power, and whether or not it is easy to understand. And of course these games for kids should be able to effectively assess the progress of the kid.
Play a magnetic fish game with cardboard fish with a paper-clip and a piece of dowel and string with a magnet on the end as a fishing rod. Count the fish in the pond. When one gets caught subtraction how many are left? Division can be as simple as a sharing exercise. "There are 4 people here and I have 8 counters. Let us see how many we will get each". Use play dough or counters or blocks to make groups of items. Talk about what happens when you put groups together (multiplication). Make the terminology you use simple. This age group need simple language instead of mathematical terms. These activities are laying the foundations for further learning.
Learning fractions in math does not have to be frightening and complicated for students any longer. Concentration, Bingo, and War are just three of the many fun math games to make that help educators, tutors, and parents teach math in a more creative and engaging way! Consider how much fun they can have while working in small groups to practice their skills. Best of all, using games is not intimidating to students like the prospect of turning in another worksheet to the scrutiny of the marking pencil!
