The Handwriting University International website reports on the disappearance of this classic writing form. Georgia is just one state that has removed handwriting from its curriculum. "Many students prefer computers or text messages to handwriting," the website reports. But those in favor of this writing think it is a special form of communication. Expert Michelle Dresbold, author of Sex, Lies and Handwriting, considers this writing form as "brainwriting." Trained by the Secret Service, she testifies in court, and has helped to solve many crime cases. A Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article by Michael A. Fuoco, gives us more insight into handwriting analysis.
Let us step back into history for a moment and examine the signatures on the Declaration of Independence, signed by members of Congress on July 4, 1776. Notice how the printing of this document flows with influences from a combination of Cursive, Script, Old English and Manuscript lettering. Frequently, I always heard a phrase when someone made a request for my signature, they had ask for my "John Hancock." No one could ever give me an explanation on the origins of this saying, so I came up with my own summation. After looking at the image of the Declaration of Independence, the one signature that pops out at me located in the middle of the bottom portion of the document was that of John Hancock. Perhaps his creative and bold style brought forth some bantering from his colleagues. But if you look closely at each individual signature, it is clearly evident that these Congressional members were extremely meticulous about their stately penmanship.

Rather than sending your child into elementary school unprepared, you can allow him to play free kids learning games online to learn all the necessary basics to give him a head start and positive first school experience.
For big kids or even young parents who love puzzles there are numerous brain teasing puzzle packs which are available in variety of patterns like scramble squares. The objective behind the scramble squares puzzle game is to arrange the nine colorful illustrated square pieces into a 12" x 12" square. If you succeed in arranging these pieces then a realistic image can be completed. In the puzzle making process, when the design gets completed, half of the pattern is in one block and half is in another block. These scramble puzzles do not take lot of effort to make but attention is the key. While making the scramble squares the player needs to pay great attention to each block.
