Are there any cons to using typing games in your classroom or home school setting? If they are used correctly, there really are no negatives to this type of educational software. Typing is a skill that is only learned through repeated practice. There is no amount of study that your students can do to improve their typing speed. It is easy to acquire typing skills by practicing the exercises in typing game software. Typing games provide a fun, stimulating way to practice. Not only that, but typing is an absolutely necessary skill in today has job market. No matter what career path your students choose to follow, being able to type well and quickly will be considered an asset.
Find the mistake: These activities are terrible for young kids. An example might be, cross out the word that does not begin with the right letter, or correct the misspelled word. I know, seems like common sense, but I have seen some teachers try to teach young children using these kind of word sheets which are just ridiculously confusing for young learners. Crosswords: Excellent for 7 year olds, rough for kindergarten kids. Search "crossword generator" on Google and you can build your own crossword. Older students really like this; younger students would be a no go. What is the best way to teach your child reading? There are different types of handwriting styles in two categories: Manuscript and Cursive. I remember during first and second grades, using the white tablet paper sectioned by solid blue and red lines, with dashes of a blue line running through the middle of the two. The area between the line of dashes down to the solid red line at the bottom of the section was the perimeter for small letters. The range between the solid blue top line and solid red bottom line was the designated area to write capital letters. The continuous development in personal penmanship brought a sense of pride in your written work.
